To the north

Discover the riviera of the Conero (55 km). The Conero Riviera is a high and rocky stretch of hills and beaches along the Adriatic coast. It runs from the port of the city of Ancona to that of Numana. It is is a protected area, named after Monte Conero, a hill overlooking the sea. Discover its inlets taking a boat tour or relax on the stony beaches.

Or head towards Recanati (30km), the city of the famous Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi.

Why not visit Loreto (32 km) too? It houses the so-called Basilica of the Holy House (Basilica della Santa Casa) where the Black Mary appeared. Since, Loreto is one of the most important and ancient places of Marian pilgrimage in the Catholic world.

Did you ever try the Ascolana olives (fried olives, filled with fish or meat)? They are a real delicacy! They are made in Ascoli Piceno (75 km), the city of a hundred towers. Its Piazza del Popolo is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. When admiring the square, sip an aniseta in caffè Meletti!
